A-JOINT® DECOFIX PRO is a very highly water-permeable 2-component special resin for the professional binding of chippings and gravel. High strengths allow it to be used on surfaces with light traffic loads.
A-JOINT® DECOFIX PRO fixes and reinforces public areas in general path construction, on park or cemetery paths and playgrounds. The high-strength special resin is also suitable for tree surrounds and car parks and ensures a neat appearance.
The slip resistance of surfaces treated with A-JOINT® DECOFIX PRO minimises the risk of accidents. At the same time, it reduces the maintenance costs of the surface by making cleaning much easier.
Nero Ebano (8/12)

Bordeaux (8/12)

Processing instructions:

Preparing the site
The surface must be cleared of weeds, roots and loose debris to a depth of at least 30 mm. As a general rule: layer thickness three times as high as the largest grain of the stone used. To avoid subsidence, we recommend a permanently water-permeable and stable substrate according to the subsequent load. The additional use of a weed fleece is recommended. Adjacent areas should be masked or covered to prevent soiling by the fresh binding agent.
The stone used (2-45 mm) must be dust-free and completely dry.
If cleaning and drying is necessary, allow sufficient time before processing. Caution! Moisture in the mixture can significantly impair its strength. It is advisable to store the bottle in a warmer environment before processing. This makes emptying much easier.
Mixing:
Fill the chippings/gravel into a suitable mixing container. We recommend using a forced or free-fall mixer. Start the mixing process and now add the contents of the bottle containers completely. Ensure that the bottle containers are completely empty. The entire mixing process should take at least 6 minutes until the stones are completely wetted with the binding agent.
Processing:
Pour the finished mixture onto the prepared surface and spread it with a clean shovel. Then level the surface with a levelling trowel. Now compact the surface with a smoothing trowel and level the surface at the same time. The better the surface is compacted, the longer it will last.
Follow-up treatment:
Protect the freshly laid surface from rain for at least 24 hours. We recommend using construction film or tarpaulins as rain protection. These must not be laid directly on the surface. At temperatures around 20°C, the surface can be walked on after 24 hours and driven on after 6 days. For surfaces subject to heavy traffic, the construction height should be at least 50 mm. A strength test is always recommended before use. Cleaning work (high-pressure cleaner max. 100 bar, min. 40 cm distance) may be carried out after 7 days at the earliest. If necessary, the top layer of stone can also be sealed. To do this, apply a thin coat of A-JOINT® DECOFIX PRO to the clean and dry surface using a brush or paint roller (150 - 250 ml/m²).
Important
Synthetic resin film: A-JOINT® DECOFIX PRO leaves a thin film of resin on the stone surface, which intensifies the colour of the stone used (wet-look effect) and protects it from soiling. The resin film usually disappears over time due to weathering and use of the surface. If in doubt, create a small test area. The synthetic resin film is not a design defect, as neither the quality nor the functionality of the surface is impaired.
Application notes: Only use A-JOINT® DECOFIX PRO with a stable, load-bearing and permanently water-permeable substructure or a slope of at least 2%. Allow for expansion joints and ensure sufficient distance to plant stems (growth). We advise you to wear adequate protective clothing. Work shoes and tools must be free of dirt and should be cleaned with water after use. Regularly remove dirt, leaves and moss from the surface.
